Why employers use occupational health
Occupational health looks at how someone's health affects their ability to do their job, and how the job may affect their health. Employers usually bring us in when risk assessments show hazard exposure, when roles are safety-critical, when sickness absence is hard to manage, or when a manager needs clinical advice on adjustments and a return to work. Managed well, that link between health and work shortens absence and makes fitness-for-work decisions clearer and easier to defend.
